WHAT SHOULD OUR FOCUS BE?

The central theme of the New Testament was the second coming of Christ.  The disciples wanted to know when, and Jesus' response was; Matthew 24:44 Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.

In other words, be always ready.  Are you?

At Jesus' ascension they were told by the angel, Acts 1:11 ...this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

The Apostle Paul instructing the Corinthian church that they come behind in no gift...  1 Corinthians 1:7 ...waiting for the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Also the same Apostle, instructing the Hebrew Church, a church that was falling away perhaps, because of false teachers, and in some way, they were being encouraged to stay at home, that it is not necessary to assemble together as a local church body.  This was early stages of the spirit of denominationalism. Hebrews 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, AS YE SEE THE DAY APPROACHING.

What is the day Paul was speaking about?  The day in which the LORD returns the second time.  Which he also went on to tell them "a little while and He will come. (Hebrews 10:37)"

The Disciple of love said we should be like Him when he appears, because we shall see Him as He is. 1 John 3:3 "And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure."

Oh, that we would be more sanctified by His Holiness than the less we see taking place today in many that should know better.

One final scripture spoken to the church, prophesying of what our attitude should be as we near the end; Revelation 3:11 Behold, I come quickly...

What should our FOCUS be today?  Should it be anything less that the coming of the LORD?

The English word FOCUS means; the main emphasis, concentrated effort or attention on a particular thing.

I am still rejoicing in the wonderful Youth Services we had this past weekend, and I believed they helped restore our focus, as we all have been reminded to look into the MIRROR of the Word and examine ourselves by what we see.  What a glorious time we had, and may it remain in our hearts as we look for Christ soon return, in a physical form in the clouds to catch us away.

That, as one believer, I believe a Millennium reign with Christ, a thousand years upon the earth; the physical return of the Lord Jesus, to take a physical people, glorified, by His cleansing Blood. - WMB
