Yesterday (Monday 4/8/2024) we observed here in the USA a total solar eclipse. Interesting, and a lot of speculation and thoughts on what it means to us as Christians. Is it a sign of the coming of the LORD, Judgment to this once great nation, and is something great fixing to happen? I have heard different thoughts concerning this event in the heavens. God has always marked things in the heavens; to show us something that are going to take place on earth. The first Bible was the zodiac, He wrote it in the heavens, so that man would look up and realize that Jehovah the Creator lived above and wants to dwell in the hearts of man on the earth.
Joel the prophet prophesied of the last days, and Peter quoted him;
Acts 2:19 And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke: 20 The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before that great and notable day of the Lord come: 21 And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.
All these signs we have seen in the last days, which was from the time that Peter spoke this until now. Signs in the sky, calling men to repentance so as to have no excuse. However, this that we have seen in heaven, the total eclipse of the sun, was not a sign to those that believe - we have already received our last sign that has brought us together by the Word of God with a hope of the resurrection and rapture of the living saints. We are not looking for another sign today. We do not have to have another sign.
