Christ's disciples asked Him; "teach us to pray." Jesus presented prayer no longer as a law, but a relationship. It is not a High Priest praying in our behalf before the altar, in a legal ceremony. It is a loving relationship, as a child's request of an all wise, loving and powerful Father God, that cares completely for those who are His.
The weakest of Christians have this relationship to the Father, and He wants us to use this earthly to heavenly bond that has been made possible by our new birth in Christ. It was said by William Branham; "...the devils tremble when the weakest of saints goes to their knees. What a power and a privilege has been given to the Church of the living God. When you fall to your knees in prayer even the devils tremble, to the weakest of them."
When Jesus taught the disciples to pray; "Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth." It is then, when we pray, that Heaven is brought down to us and we are brought up to Heaven.
Prayer lefts us up into spiritual realms we could not enter into otherwise.
What a wonderful thought it is to Pray. Don't neglect to talk to the Father today.
