From 1776 to the present day, July 4th has been celebrated as the birth of American independence. A time when our nation declared its freedom from the oppression of England.
After almost 250 years this nation of America is celebrating its independence and freedom again. This time an independence from God and freedom to sin in the face of a righteous Creator.
It seems as if nothing is sacred in this nation anymore? Bible prophecy speaks of this - Rev 13:11 “And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.”
A beast in the scripture represents a power, a nation, as a lamb with two horns, freedom of religious and political power, that would eventually speak as the dragon before it, Satan.
Rev 13:15 And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads.
To the Believer, as we see these things coming to pass, we have a hope, beyond the present circumstances of this old world.
Titus 2:11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ.
