WILL LAWS PROTECT OUR CHILDREN FROM SOCIAL MEDIA?

Strange – in the news today Australia Bans Social Media for Children Under 16 years of age. It is a law to give parents another tool in limiting Social Media from their children. Parents can tell their children; it is against the law for you to be on those sights.

Social media and the electronics of this modern world have been proven to be a big problem - especially for youth.  Every child wants it for Christmas and mom and dad feel like they are not good parents if they do not go into debt to make it possible.

Question: Will the passing of new laws enable us to be better parents, is that the answer?  You cannot legislate morality.

FROM A PASTOR'S POINT OF VIEW

From a pastor’s point of view, in these modern times, it seems harder than ever to “parent.”

It takes more than the laws of sinful nations to conqueror evil in the heart, but a willingness in hearts of Christians.  The ability to say NO and mean it.  To REFUSE to keep up with the culture of this evil world, a world that is completely against Christ and those that follow His divine plans for the ages.

This must begin in the home, sanely and sensible raising children not merely by a government agency, but the Scripture.  Teaching, and showing them what is right, what is wrong and the consequences that there is a God that holds all humanity accountable for the things we do and see.

NATIONS WANT TO DO SOMETHING

Australia is trying to do something about it by giving the parents a tool that will help them say no to social media.  That is good but the very law speaks of the real problem – they do not believe parents have the ability or authority to “PARENT.”  It is true, the world we live in does not want to be bothered with parenting, they use drugs, cell phones, expensive electronics as parenting helps.  And all these things are objects that could be good, but they are off the tree of knowledge of good and EVIL.  Should I say more?  Therefore, they also give parents tools to lay aside their scripture RESPONSIBLILITY.

THE REAL CHRISTIAN FAMILY IS DOING SOMETHING

My heart is with you parents that feel alone in your struggle against the culture, and what everyone else does – be encouraged.  Keep on teaching your children the truth, require them to live by it while at home, and even if they depart from it when they grow older, it will never leave them. There will be something that will bring them back, being taught scripturally right.

Prov 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

WHAT DID WILLIAM BRANHAM SAY?

ELISHA.THE.PROPHET_  CHICAGO.IL  TUESDAY_  56-1002E

And here some time ago, I was reading an article where there was a home, and five boys was borned in this home. And as soon as their oldest one got old enough to go to the Navy, off to the Navy he went. The second one followed, the next one, until all the whole five went away to the Navy. And there was no Marines or Navy men in their family. The mother and father couldn't understand just why these people, these boys, every one wanted to go to the Navy.

There was a--a real fine combing investigation made of this. And come to find out, in the bedroom where these boys all was brought up, in this bedroom there's a beautiful big picture hanging there of a big ship sailing on a quiet, calm sea. And it so impressed the boys as they went to bed at night, looking at this picture. It was on their mind to sail that quiet soothing sea. And along the morning when they arose, the first thing they could look at was that ship making her way through the quiet, calm sea. And it impressed the boys so, that each one become a sailor.

Now, if a picture of a ship will impress boys to become Navy men, sailors of the sea, what ought the picture of the Lord Jesus Christ do? See? Always have the right thing before your children. "Bring up a child in the way that it should go." See? Bring it up and teach it right. It'll certainly, won't depart from it. – William Branham
