Is God more present in the crowd than the less?
The bigger the crowd the more spiritual we become, or is true spirituality lost in the crowd? A rioting mob, a screaming audience or an ecstatic religious congregation can have the same things in common, and can never attain to the place which the little group or individual enters into. The crowd will miss an enduring relationship with what is really going on around them and in them.
I think the Bible is very clear on this subject, the crowd reacts to the crowd, not necessarily to what is truly being said or done. It is the "few" that hear the Voice of God and react sanely and sensibly to a sensitive Divine being, a God that is not moved by noise and a crowd.
Matt 7:13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and FEW there be that find it.
