THE CHRISTIAN ATTITUDE TOWARD FALSE DOCTRINE

False teaching becomes false doctrine.  Balaam was a prophet and uttered true prophesies of the Messiah that we believe to this day.  However, he was a false prophet. It is by his teachings that he brought death to many in Israel.  It was a teaching that became the doctrine of Balaam.

 Rev 2:14 But I have a few things against thee, because thou hast there them that hold the doctrine of Balaam, who taught Balac to cast a stumblingblock before the children of Israel, to eat things sacrificed unto idols, and to commit fornication. 15 So hast thou also them that hold the doctrine of the Nicolaitans, which thing I hate.

 Remember, false doctrine is identified as spiritual fornication (Revelation 17:2).

WHAT STARTS AS A TEACHING

 What starts as teaching, or a deed becomes a doctrine.  Thus, it was in the first age of the church, when the mystery of iniquity begins to ride (the white horse) it seemed right, but it was all wrong. It then becomes a doctrine which you were required to follow by the time of the 3rd Church age, the Pergamos age (Revelation 2;14-15).  The Bible is clear, God hates it, and so do I.

 This false doctrine had no Bible foundation. It could not bring life, but death and many would follow it calling themselves a woman, a church, or a Bride (Revelation 17).

 THE EARLY CHURCH

The early Christians followed closely the Apostles doctrine which they had been taught. Acts 2:42 And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.

The Apostle Paul established New Testament Bible Doctrine to guide the church through the Ages.  This was the pattern for Church order, preaching, communion and how we are to worship together as Saints.

 SCRIPTUAL PATTERN

The Apostle Paul charged Timothy as a pastor to instruct others to teach no other doctrine.  1 Timothhy 1:3 “…that thou mightest charge some that they teach no other doctrine…”

 Paul also instructed Timothy to CONTINUE in this doctrine. 1 Tim 4:16 Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.

 Paul taught his doctrine is scripture and is profitable… 2 Tim 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: 17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

 Paul charged Timothy to Preach the Word because the time will come when people will not endure sound doctrine: 2 Tim 4:2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;

 The Apostle also instructed the preacher Titus in the beginning to “speak” sound doctrine: Titus 2:1 But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine:

THE CHRISTIAN ATTITUDE TOWARD FALSE DOCTRINE

 The Apostle Paul was emphatic on our attitude toward false teachings that lead to false doctrine.

 Romans16:17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them.

 He taught New Testament doctrine of the ministering offices in the church, and their responsibility to keep the people from false doctrine.

 Eph 4:11-14 That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;

 He taught the Galatian church that there was no other Gospel other than the one He as the messenger to the first age brought to them.  And to preach another is to be placed under a curse of judgement.

 Gal 1:7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

 WHAT IS OUR STAND TODAY?

For us today: The Apostle in the first age of the church set the pattern of the New Testament church; how we should live and conduct ourselves as Christians.  The assembling together, the ministry and the preaching of the same doctrines they taught, and to mark those that teach doctrine contrary.

 Why do those that teach false doctrine always claim their teachings are not doctrine, what are they afraid of?

 Question: Why look for a different order, if the early church, by the Apostles, established the way we worship and grow as Believers?  This church order has been true for 2000 years through the seven-church age.  And the Prophet that was promised to restore us back to the Apostles teaching taught the same.

 Why are some trying to change the divine order to something different than that which was originally given to the church?

 I would rather be found staying as close to Scriptural teaching as possible, which is the same doctrinal teaching given to us by the Seven Angel of Revelation 10:7. I ask you, why would anyone that knows these things to be true want to follow something different, regardless of who teaches it?

 BEYOND THE CURTAIN

Beyond the Curtain of Time, the prophet’s convert’s, the last messenger to the final age, said they were resting on the fact that he preached the same thing the Apostle Paul preached.

He said, "Yes, Paul stands too with his group that he preached to."

I said, "I've preached the same message he did."

And them millions raised their hands and said, "We are resting on that." – William Branham
