The Reformers believe that everything after the Scriptures can err, including Councils of men formed by the church. The Scriptures are confined as the only authority given to the church, by Prophets that were guided by the Holy Spirit to sustain us, guide us in all things and be the final judge in the lives of all.
Why are scripture taken so lightly by those that call themselves Christian’s. Some feel it is too radical to live by and outdated by the modern culture in which we live. To believe that would be to add to or take away from the BOOK we call the Bible.
DO NOT ADD TO OR TAKE AWAY FROM THE BOOK
Rev 22:19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.
William Branham a prophet to this generation said it like this - “I believe this Bible is accurate. Jesus completely authenticated the Old Testament when here on earth and it was compiled exactly as was our New Testament. Make no mistake about it, we have the infallible Word of God today and no man dares take from it or add to it. But we need the same Spirit that gave it, to teach it to us.
Oh, how we need revelation by the Spirit. We don’t need a new Bible, we don’t need a new translation, though some are very good, and I am not against them, BUT WE NEED THE REVELATION OF THE SPIRIT. And thank God, we can have what we need, for God wants to reveal His Word to us by His Spirit.” - The Revelation of Jesus Christ
Unquote: Thank the LORD for Words we can always stand on as being infallible and believe it is the complete revelation of Jesus Christ the WORD.
THE BIBLE HAS BOUNDARIES WE MUST KEEP
People do not like boundaries, they feel inhibited by them. However, boundaries are necessary for a Christian’s spiritual and natural maturity. Those boundaries are found in Christ, and Christ is the manifestation of the scriptures in flesh (John 1:14)
That makes the authority of the Old and New Testaments the focus of all we are and all we will ever be. This boundary found only in Scripture is infallible. Man’s word will fail, human boundaries will change, but God’s Word remains the same forever (Hebrews 13:8).
Shouldn’t we spend more time examining the Bible? If you have a heavenly desire to be like Christ, the Word you read will become you?
William Branham was asked the question; how can a Christian get deeper in the love of God? His answer was simple.
“Read the Word and pray. Read the Word of God and pray.” - Questions And Answers
GOD’S WORDS WILL NEVER FAIL
The writing of all authors of human words can fail or be changed. There is an author that used the pens of the prophets to write 66 books, and all have remained infallible having continued so through the ages and will be to the end of time. These writings were manifested to bring redemption to a human race that was doomed to a death. The pages and the words of these books are God manifested; every word in the Old and New Testament brings us the Jesus Christ.
Our Sunday School children sing; “The B.I.B.L.E. yes that’s the Book for me…”
Quote from William Branham, 65-0822M — Christ Is Revealed In His Own Word
“So, the Bible is the complete revelation of Jesus Christ. And It was wrote by prophets. Hebrews 1:1, in…’God, Who in sundry times spake to the fathers by the prophets, in this last day speaks to us through His Son, Jesus Christ,’ which was the prophets, all of them, put together. Jesus was Malachi; Jesus was Jeremiah, Isaiah, Elijah. All that they were, were in Him. And all that you are, and all I am, is in Him; Words, witnesses of the Word”. - WMB
Rev 1:3 Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.
There is a distinction between God’s Word and man’s - God is infallible. We are not. How vital is it to allow those Words to be an everyday part of our life.
GOD’S WORD HAS AN EFFECT
Satan has tried to destroy the effects of the Word of God from the beginning. He started with Eve by just adding one word of his own and making it sound convincing. She believed it and it brought death to humanity. One word added!
This should show us how important God’s Word is to the Believer. Our arch-enemy is still at it – a lack of real spiritual knowledge of the Word opens minds to deception, discouragement and unbelief.
FAITH COMES BY THE WORD
The Christian Walk is one of faith, and not human reasoning. Faith comes by hearing the Word of God, as a seed planted and growing to maturity. That hearing comes by being in contact with the only Book that was written that is completely true – the Bible. That alone will bring real satisfaction to hearts that are open to the Book that has been opened to those that are ordained to eat the book (Revelation 10:9).
What precious promises we can find, WORDS that bring us strength, peace and truth.
Romans 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
Philippians 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
THE ONLY SUPERNATUAL BOOK
The Bible is the only supernaturally written book written over the span of 1,500 years by more than forty prophets as they were moved on by the Holy Spirit (2 Peter 1:20-21). This Book was written across three continents and in 3 languages and it tells one consistent story of God’s redemptive plan in Christ Jesus. No other book will compare.
How important are these printed pages? We all spend a lot of time on our phones, and other things that capture our mind and hold our attention. It is not all bad, however, what joy, what peace, and what mental and physical strength the reading of the above Book will bring to the hungry and thirsty heart. It brings us closer to the Author when read from the heart with prayer.
WE SHOULD BE FOUND SEARCHING
John 5:39 Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.
