| 1 John 4:19 "We love him, because he first
loved us." |
|
| Gods love is before our love.
This scripture tells us, He first loved us. Our love to God is anchored in His
love, we love Him because He first loved us. |
| Because He loves us first, then His love is elective. |
| Rom 9:15 "For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I
will have mercy , and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. |
| 16 So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that
runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy." |
|
| Like election our salvation originates with the love God
has for us. We were not saved because we by nature were good, but saved entirely by His
love to us not ours to Him or our will to love Him. |
| John 1:13 "Which were born, not of blood, nor of
the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God." |
| Our coming to God, was by his unearned love to us,
springing up from within himself. So if we love Him at all, it is because it first came
from Him. Like a stream returning to the sea or the rain to the ocean. |
| I have always wanted to love God more! Of course that
love was manifested through Jesus Christ the Son of God. When I can see His love for me,
then that becomes the cause of my love to Him. When we believe, know, and feel that God
loves us, we, as a natural result, love Him in return; and as our knowledge deepens that
we are really loved of God our faith strengthens as we from our heart return that love. |
